A Good Day In Sports

Any day that Gerry McNamara and US Baseball get eliminated, it’s a wonderful day in sports. Japan moves on like they deserved to, the same ump that screwed up the call on Sunday screwed up again–where do they find these guys?–and this time the US paid for it. Justice is restored to the baseball world. And all that insanity about G-Mac for player of the year is done. (Now if fools would just shut up about JJ and Adam, but first things first.) My brackets are hurting, but I have a smile on my face.

I couldn’t agree more! Down goes G-Mac! Down goes USA baseball! Next — down goes Morrison! The next step toward a successful NCAA tournament will come tomorrow when my HOOSIERS and the more than deserving Mike Davis take out the much overhyped Morrison and the Zags. I can’t wait to see how the racist component of Indiana hoops fandom continues to rationalize Davis-bashing as he blazes a trail through this tournament.

out of curiosity, why don’t you like g-mac and morrison?

I don’t think there’s a dude in the ncaa I despise more than greg paulus.

it would be amazing if cuba won the wbc. I wonder how korea matches up vs. the d.r.

Well honestly I don’t hate Morrison actually all that much, or the Zags. I hate the hype. I hate Vitale and every sportscaster pounding it into my head how good they are every time they play.

I think Brandon Roy will be a better NBA player than any of them, and no one–not stupid Dick or any of those ESPN/SI/CBS knuckleheads–remembers how he shut down Morrison earlier this year.

I’m really pulling for Cuba. Their game against Dominicana was just amazing.

Northwestern State killed my brackets, but the Cal women are still in, Bruins are still in, the Tarheels are still in, and I’m still loving the bball/WBC madness.

I hear you on the over-hyping, Jeff, but I still can’t stand Morrison. I’m tired of his WT mustache and his constant jawing. He could’ve easily been thrown out of tonight’s game after that near-punch he gave Roderick Wilmont.

You are also right about Brandon Roy. And, you’ll be happy to know that I, a Midwesterner, have your Bruins going to the championship game.

    On with the Madness!
