It’s interesting that XXL — the magazine that pioneered the “dime pieces” layout and rarely prints any socio-political writing — hasn’t gotten as much criticism as the Source. Obviously, the latter’s intraoffice problems and rampant sexism shouldn’t be ignored, and it’s great that the truth is finally coming out. But one wonders if XXL will escape scrutiny simply because it does a better and more “professional” job of making the same fast food.
