A Frustrated Golden State Fan’s Guide To The Playoffs

Damn, Adonal.

We pick:

Detroit, because Detroit is Detroit.

New Jersey, because we still love Jason Kidd.

Cleveland, Lebron is from Vallejo. OK, he isn’t. But Gooden is from Richmond, and played for El Cerrito.

We don’t care if Dallas or Memphis wins.

Phoenix, because the Lakers are the Giants. One highly problematic superstar, a bunch of uninteresting supporting characters, and an embarrassingly huge bunch of Grey Poupon fans.

Sacramento, because it’s next to Davis.

The Clippers, because they are the closest thing to the A’s. Westside underdog love!

    yo jeff,

i didn’t know you were such a big bball fan. man, i think we are on the same boat. your GS Warriors juxtaposed to my Boston Celtics. GS hasnt been in the playoffs for 10+ years and are in the tough Wild West Conference. Y’all need to get rid of Dunleavy. dude hasn’t produce anything for my fantasy team! haha.

The C’s are the same man, so much young talent, potential playoff team in the East, but seem to get screwed from the GM.

I remember when Bill Wong came through this semester, he’s a big Raiders fan and talked about the Snow Bowl. You a big football fan? Maybe Moss and Jordan can bring you guys back to the Big Show.

I resent that Giants/Lakers thing… and really, the A’s are more like the Kings… a well constructed team of a bunch of white boys when they were in their prime, and choking in the clutch.

and the clips making the playoffs is like the Expos doing the same.

  3. Jeff says:

LOL. but yo, reggie jackson? vida blue? dave stewart? eric chavez? plus–as milton bradley could tell you–the white guys on the a’s (we’ll leave out mcguire and giambi) weren’t jeff kents. hunter, fingers, eck, swisher–flava.

if it makes you feel any better, no less than kenny smith says kobe is the most hip-hop player in the game. which just enhances the barry bonds analogy.

Man, I remember when Kidd was at Cal and I got his autograph at basketball camp. Those were the days. Go Pheonix or Detroit.

And as for baseball, this is the A’s year, I’m really feelin’ it. They’re hanging in there, scoring runs even while their pitchers are terribly inconsistant. When pitching gets back in line (as it always does) we’re gonna be rollin.

No more cheap seats this year though, which is a bummer.

Bad news today – Harden has just been placed on the 15-day DL.

  6. Just Chris says:

Mulder, Hudson, Zito, Harden… “Surf’s up dude!”

  7. Jeff says:

oh i know you didn’t just dis surfing…

    harden will be back…
